Project Description

The rehabilitation of Ekakpamre/Ekrokpe/Usiefurun/Orhuwhorun Road in Ughelli South Local Government Area, by Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is aimed at improving the condition, safety, and functionality of the road network connecting the benefiting communities. The project involves 12km length and 7.3m average pavement width. The scope of works for the road consists of scarification of failed sections, excavation/removal of unsuitable materials, sharp sandfill, demolition of failed culverts, undersized drains, desiltation of exisitng drains, construction of drains, culverts, slabs and pavement surfacing involving crushed stone base, regulation and concrete pavement for 550metres length and a layer of 40mm thick wearing course for 6,550 metres.
The project will enhance the movement of people and goods, improve access to homes, markets, businesses, and essential services, reduce travel difficulties and transportation costs, improve road safety, support local economic activities, and contribute to sustainable infrastructure development in Ughelli South Local Government Area.
